Stamp on Hema Malini by Norway

Postage Stamp issued in honour of

HEMA MALINI by NORWAY

Its a matter of great pride for an Indian to be on postage stamp of a foreign country. This honour was bestowed upon Hema Malini, the great dancer and actress of Indian Cinema.

Recently, the Norwegian Government released a stamp on Bollywood's Dreamgirl at the 10 th Annual Bollywood festival held at Oslo.

A Question of Rupees 50 Million (5 Crores) on Postage Stamp !

It is a proud moment for Philatelists world over to know that in episode of most popular and most lucrative Game-show of KBC : Kaun Banega Crorepati (Who will be a Multi Millionnaire) hosted by Mega Star Amitabh Bachhan on 09.09.2012, the last coveted question worth Rupees 50 Million was asked to identify the Aircraft on first postage stamp issued after Independence !!

Answer : DOUGLAS DC 4

In 1947, India Post issued a 12 Anna stamp depicting this Douglas DC4 Aircraft. Kudos to Siddharth Basu who invented this rich question implying the hidden potential of Philately which includes all elements of Hobby, Pleasure, Treasure and Knowledge.
